education
I completed two courses in general gemmology and diamonds at The Gemmological Association of Great Britain. I am entitled to use the titles FGA (Fellow of the Gemmological Association) and DGA (diamond grading).
auctions & art fairs
I completed an internship with the jewellery department of Christie’s Amsterdam and, since 2003, I have assisted with sales and provided advice at Kunsthandel Inez Stodel during PAN Amsterdam art and antiques fair.
international experience & expertise
After working for twelve years at various international companies, I was invited in 1997 to become the personal assistant to Alfred (Freddy) Heineken. Following his death in 2002, I supported Mrs Heineken and her daughter Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken with advice and assistance.
I worked for almost twenty years for this well-known brewing family. My work included coming up with suggestions for special gifts and negotiating and acquiring these; furnishing their guest residences; and acquiring art and antiques for private quarters and meeting rooms. This took place in the Netherlands, France, England and Switzerland.
Since 2017, I have applied my knowledge, extensive professional experience, discerning eye and network to the diverse international clientele of my advisory business, MVRR.
